1200017 Spooky/Manslaughter Park

This is my September pick but if it doesn't arrive at
my library in time I'll use it for October. Assuming I
understood the directions? If MP shows up before
October, I'll revisit this thread!

1200017 I didn't participate in this challenge for August, but the Austenesque book I did try was a dnf letdown. On to September!

1200017 Because my library has it and it also fills a slot in another challenge I'm trying for .....

LOL. Last winter when it was bone-chilling cold for weeks, I swore I wouldn't complain about the heat come summer. This summer made me a liar!

I had just discovered IMDb TV when Amazon acquired it and changed it to FreeVee. I'm a Judge Judy fan. 😁😳

1200017 I'll be starting my choice for this challenge on June 30 😁

1200017 Thanks Sam and Sophia. Arm is better, new carpet this week and then we are done! My literal dusty shelves have never been more organized! LOL

1200017 I am in a reading slump due to home renovations and a broken arm (not too bad, now healed but still sore). I need a kick start to finish the 2 I have on deck and get to my choice for this challenge. It's yellowish. Home reno made me clean out my closet and I found this, thank goodness. Nothing like finding books you forgot you owned to get reading juices flowing!

The Lost Memoirs of Jane Austen by Syrie James

1200017 Finished Godmersham Park (Jane as character) pretty quickly. I liked it but wish it had been a little livelier. I mean if you are making up most of the story, you'd think it could be more interesting!

1200017 I think I have 3 Jane as character and one each of the other 2 categories so I chose Godmersham Park

1200017 Your answer will determine which category you will get. Your Austenesque reading for April will need to match up with the mystery option you chose. sounds intriguing!

1. What was your first Jane Austen Novel (or any Austen writing) read? P&P sometime in my 20s, I know for sure it wasn't during school years.

2. Who is your least favorite Austen book character? John Thorpe. Just thinking about him makes me mad!

3. What place in an Austen novel (or her real life) would you enjoy visiting? I just want to go to England, period.

4. Which Regency custom or word/phrase do you find odd, but interesting? Bathing in Bath, weird.

5. How many times have you read Pride & Prejudice (best guess)? Not many, maybe 3?

1200017 I might be the last Austen fan to read Longbourn .
It was good but towards the end it got so violent I had to skim a lot.
I was also expecting a more "wow" moment ending for James and Sarah, it was a satisfying ending but seemed to move in slow motion. Anyway, glad I read it and on to April!

I live near Boise Idaho, we managed to avoid the snowmagedon going on right now but it is unseasonably cold for this time of year, my daffodils are about 2 inches into growth and a warm day will force buds everywhere, only to be frosted the next night. It's getting me down. Even my reading mojo is affected. waaaah. Cue the violins.

Meanwhile my sister in Iowa and my brothers in Massachusetts are encased in ice. So I guess I need to count my blessings!

1200017 I wish there were more sequels and prequels.

I don't like time travel stories.

That makes sense! It actually explains the brothers Thomas and Edmund as well. The oldest was probably petted as much as the girls were and Edmund was the "spare" like Prince Harry. 😁

meh. I was hoping for a more exciting ending, kind of a let down. Considering the families that raised her, I wonder how in the world Fanny turned out so well?

I'm on chapter 16 of my first time read of MP. The play is dragging and everyone is unlikable except Fanny. But it is funny!
