I'm thinking that I it was an excerpt that was posted on Austen Variations but it was a church ruin maybe? Anngela Schroeder may have been the possible author? It was a WIP at the time, and she gave Darcy advice on how to handle a sister. I don't remember the Cyclops part but it may be the same one that Jeanne is referring to.
