120620 I don't read cookbooks so that won't work for me. Darn. lol

I'm curious, Nanci, what non-fiction book ended up being a favorite?

We'll see how I do at the end of the year. My thought is that if I read at least 2 I will have done well. :)

It's not that I dislike nonfiction, it's more that I read to escape from the real world so reading about the real world sort of defeats the purpose. lol

Thanks for the recs, Lyssa. I always forget about travel memoirs for some reason, but I like the ones I've read. I'll definitely check those out.

Introductions (108 new)
Dec 13, 2013 11:45AM

120620 LOL! I used to - oh, who am I kidding - I STILL read cereal boxes in addition to the shampoo bottles, pasta boxes, etc. ;)

The problem with reading books on your TBR shelf that are old is that there are SO many new books that come out during the year that you didn't know about that you just HAVE to read right NOW!

Thanks for inviting me, Jen!

Introductions (108 new)

120620 Hi everyone! I'm Judy and I live in Missouri. I work for an IT company in their data quality department, which is not as fun as it sounds. ;) I will read almost anything (including the shampoo bottle in the shower) but it's usually tipped more towards fiction than non-fiction.

Last year I gave myself a goal to read at least 12 books from my TBR shelf that had been on there for a year or more. I'll probably make a similar goal this year.

Looking forward to being part of this group and seeing what everyone else is reading. :)
