I read this one in a few days and just realized I didn't post my thoughts. I loved this one. It was so funny and seemed better organized than the first novel. I admit the beginning was hard to get into until Myfanwy became a part. I didn't remember a lot of the other characters. I probably should have reread the first book, but I hate doing that. It had an air similar to that of Doctor Who.
If I was new to Goodreads I would never find a group to join. I like seeing what discussions are most recent in my groups. Why can't they just give us the option of what we want instead of forcing one or the other on us?
I don't recall it with the first book, but in this one, I'm reminded a bit of the Parasol Protectorate series by Gail Carriger.
I finally started this one and was afraid we'd seen the last of Myfanwy. So far there has been no mention of her. I got to the stage of the creepy "Living" room. This author's sense of humor cracks me up. :)

This topic is open for discussion of Stiletto by Daniel O'Malley. Be prepared for SPOILERS.
In this spirited sequel, The Rook returns to clinch an alliance between deadly rivals and avert epic—and slimy—supernatural war.
When secret organizations are forced to merge after years of enmity and bloodshed, only one person has the fearsome powers—and the bureaucratic finesse—to get the job done. Facing her greatest challenge yet, Rook Myfanwy Thomas must broker a deal between two bitter adversaries:
The Checquy—the centuries-old covert British organization that protects society from supernatural
threats, and…
The Grafters—a centuries-old supernatural threat.
But as bizarre attacks sweep London, threatening to sabotage negotiations, old hatreds flare. Surrounded by spies, only the Rook and two women, who absolutely hate each other, can seek out the culprits before they trigger a devastating otherworldly war.
STILETTO is a novel of preternatural diplomacy, paranoia, and snide remarks.
I liked the book, but I didn't love it. I felt it necessary to move forward with the series and set up the next phase of the series, but this was probably my least favorite book of the series. Granted, most of those books received a 4 out of 5 rating, so.... It also took me forever to finish this one. I was hoping we'd get a bigger insight into Black Sea, but perhaps that will come in a later book? Crossing my fingers.

This topic is open for discussion of Allegiance of Honor by Nalini Singh. Be prepared for SPOILERS.
The “unparalleled romantic adventure”* of Nalini Singh’s New York Times bestselling series continues as a new dawn begins for the Psy-Changeling world...
The Psy-Changeling world has undergone a staggering transformation and now stands at a crossroads. The Trinity Accord promises a new era of cooperation between disparate races and groups. It is a beacon of hope held together by many hands: Old enemies. New allies. Wary loners.
But a century of distrust and suspicion can’t be so easily forgotten and threatens to shatter Trinity from within at any moment. As rival members vie for dominance, chaos and evil gather in the shadows and a kidnapped woman’s cry for help washes up in San Francisco, while the Consortium turns its murderous gaze toward a child who is the embodiment of change, of love, of piercing hope: A child who is both Psy…and changeling.
To find the lost, protect the vulnerable—and save Trinity—no one can stand alone. This is a time of loyalty across divisions, of bonds woven into the heart and the soul, of heroes known and unknown standing back to back and holding the line. But is an allegiance of honor even possible with traitors lurking in their midst?

?
Would anyone be interested in reading
(Allegiance of Honor) by Nalini Singh or
( Stiletto ) by Daniel O'Malley with me?
According to the blog Wicked Scribes, 'The Operator' will be released on November 22nd. The fact B&N listed 'The Drafter' as one of The Best Science-Fiction & Fantasy novels of 2015 may have had something to do with it. Check out the cover:
Catherine, Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, and Season's Greetings. Sorry for being so late. Things got crazy when we ended up unexpectedly traveling. Here are my recommendations for you:
(newer, but so good)Since you said you'd be interested in some some older books, you should definitely check out:
(This series starts out awesome and I loved the ones I've read so far. Later in the series, I've been told, the author goes from manogamous to multiple person relationships which ruined the later books for them. What I love about this series, is that you can see by reading it how it influenced later UF/PNR books.)
(This is the second book in the Dark-Hunters series, but the first book is so different from the rest that I suggest you begin with this one. I noticed you had
on your TBR file. I recommend starting with the Dark-Hunters before reading The Chronicles of Nick. You'll understand what's going on better if you do.Again, Happy Holidays. Let me know if you'd like to read any together. I'd be up for rereading any of them.
P.S. I love how we like so many of the same books.
