William stands at 6'4" and has an athletic, rather muscular build. His eyes are a grayish-blue tint and his skin is deeply tanned from many years spent outdoors. Several scars mark his body. A tattoo depicting the Firefly insignia is on his right bicep.

Background: William was only nine years old when the Cordyceps outbreak swept rapidly across the American South, reaching his hometown in Georgia's Blue Ridge mountains within weeks. Will's father, Daniel, was a decorated Army special operations veteran, with nearly a dozen combat tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. His mother was a trauma nurse at the local hospital.

In the ensuing chaos, it was Daniel who kept his family alive, using his finely-honed combat and survival skills to lead them to safety in the Atlanta Quarantine Zone.

For a time, the three of them were alive and well, despite the harsh realities of life in the
Zone. However, that all changed during when a local cell of Fireflies became active in Atlanta, striking back against the military and FEDRA.

William's mother watched one day as soldiers dragged a young teenager into the street, accusing him of being a Firefly sympathizer and marking him for summary field execution. When she attempted to intervene, she was shot and killed on the spot.

Nearly driven mad with grief, Daniel smuggled himself and William out of the Quarantine Zone and into the wilderness out of fear for his son's safety. The man then began a one-man crusade against FEDRA, executing ambushes against the military whenever possible. Before long, he joined ranks with the Fireflies. William followed, but his father forbade the teenager from joining him on the frontlines.

Then, when Will was seventeen, Daniel was killed during a botched raid. He died while covering the escape of dozens of fellow Fireflies and was honored by the rebels as a hero. Hendrix enlisted immediately afterward, volunteering for the most hazardous of assignments.

Over the course of the next decade, William traveled across the United States, battling the military as well as bandits and the ever-present Infected. He rose quickly through the Firefly ranks, using the skills passed on from his father to great effect.

However, due to personal reasons, William separated from the militia group two years ago. He began living as a wanderer, guiding those attempting to escape Quarantine Zones and travel safely across the U.S. or lending his aid to peaceful settlements.

Personality: William is quiet, reserved, and soft-spoken. His demeanor to most seems serious, intense, and even uptight. However, given a chance to warm up to someone, he is capable of forming close, warm bonds.

William values the freedom and well-being of the few "good people" left in the post-apocalyptic U.S. He despises FEDRA as well as those humans who have taken to preying on others for survival.

Equipment: William typically wears an faded olive drab combat shirt, tan cargo pants, hiking boots, boonie hat, tinted goggles, shemagh, gloves, tactical vest, and knee pads.

William frequently carries a large, military-style rucksack inside of which he keeps various pieces of survival kit: first aid supplies, fire-starting materials, rope, etc.

William's primary weapon of choice is a Russian SKS rifle equipped with a sling, bayonet, and small telescopic sight. The stock has been spray-painted with a green-and-brown woodland brush pattern.

His sidearm is a Glock 19. He also carries a Yarborough combat knife and modernized tomahawk, both passed down from his father.
