Ugh, I wish I could reread these for the first time. Can't wait for the TV series to actually come out on Hulu.

I read this book last year and gave it 4 stars. This was on another book club so I feel like I've now reviewed this book like a million times but overall I thought it was a good read. It's VERY similar to the Red Queen series by Victoria Aveyard which I would also recommend. I liked how there was more romance in this granted it was YA romance. I guess I need to remind myself that it's YA because it's not spicy at all (I like some spice). I had a few problems with the plot like what did you wind up getting if you won the games? Am I just blanking on that or was there not an actual reward? Also, did the King really just find his way out by himself. Like, what shitty guards, lol. Overall I will most likely read book two when it comes out later this year.

I read this book back in September so the details are a little vague but I gave this book 5 stars and I remember liking it even more than The Housemaid #1. I remember feeling super bad for the husband who wound up being innocent. I also remember feeling like the end was just a hair far-fetched, I think there wound up being like two killers or something (sorry time has passed since I read this). But overall I really enjoyed Freida McFadden's stories and I just bought Never Lie and am looking forward to it.

Hi everyone, I'm Kayla and I'm in Missouri. I have a BA in English but really I'm just a fangirl for all things fiction. My number one genre is probably romance; subgenre romantasy but I like to break it up with some really good mysteries or thrillers throughout the month. Currently I'm on the last book of Throne of Glass series and have a ginormous list to consume this year (50 books most of which are series). I did love ACOTAR but one of my favorite authors of the last several years is Elizabeth Briggs, specifically the Zodiac Wolves which I'd like to reread this year. If you enjoy paranormal/fantasy romance I'd highly recommend her. Please feel free to friend me as I love seeing everyone's reads and recommendations.
