Just watched this and could relate... Why You Can't Boycott Amazon (and shouldn't even try) (youtube). Your thoughts? Also, it mentions: Break 'em Up: Recovering Our Freedom from Big Ag, Big Tech, and Big Money

Yeah, it's pretty simple really. However, I disagree in that there are quite a lot of times I have searched for an item and only Amazon carries it. (Not really a problem with books, I'm talking about other items)
It's usually things that are more specific, like a specific brand of something. It's pretty frustrating, but I usually just learn to live without or with something similar but not exactly that item.
The really shitty part is that Amazon has bought up so many other companies that it's hard not to buy from any of them. I've recently gotten really into online streaming on Twitch, but then I realized that Twitch is owned by Amazon. Doh!

No, thank YOU!I've been able not to buy anything from them since the start of this group also, except for this one item for a wedding registry because they didn't register for any other stores :(

Please introduce yourself in this thread, and say a little bit about what possessed you enough to join this group.
I use http://www.betterworldbooks.com/ sometimes...Also if you have a university library nearby, get a community membership if they have that option. I did that last year and it's the best investment I made. They have many of the books I want to read.
