I love Jim’s idea. It will be a lot of books for me. I will have to check where I stand and how many more to go. Even if this isn’t the winner I’m going to do it anyway!

Carrying the Fire by Michael Collins ( the astronaut who remained in orbit around the moon when Armstrong and Aldrin landed and was the most alone person in the known universe).

Great choice. This is a wonderful book

“Caravans” by James Michener. If will help you understand the history of Afghanistan.
