123739 I found these interesting reviews which I think are worth reading if you read The Bottom Billion: Why the Poorest Countries Are Failing and What Can Be Done About It:

"Popular Development Economics - An Anthropologist among the Mandarins"

"Smart Samaritans"

123739 Hi everyone and welcome to the "International Affairs" group! I started out with Collier's the Bottom Billion as I had started reading it and felt the need to discuss it with others.

The book frustrates me in the sense that I feel like it has not been well researched and Collier makes big assumptions throughout the book based on this very thin research. I am very curious to hear your thoughts!
