Not a book, but an excellent article published in the New Yorker last year:http://www.newyorker.com/magazine/201...
Following this - I would also like to get some recommendations on books to read on Turkish politics. Thanks Ty.
Dear members! As you might have noticed, this group is currently very inactive. Unfortunately I do not have enough time to change this and so I am looking for one or more moderators who are interested in leading this group. Please let me know by posting below or sending me a message. Thank you!

I found these interesting reviews which I think are worth reading if you read The Bottom Billion: Why the Poorest Countries Are Failing and What Can Be Done About It:"Popular Development Economics - An Anthropologist among the Mandarins"

Hi everyone and welcome to the "International Affairs" group! I started out with Collier's the Bottom Billion as I had started reading it and felt the need to discuss it with others. The book frustrates me in the sense that I feel like it has not been well researched and Collier makes big assumptions throughout the book based on this very thin research. I am very curious to hear your thoughts!
