In the Beginning there was Elysia, a crystalline world orbiting the star Glyu-Vho within the Nth Dimension. This planet was alive, and its sentient life-force of the biosphere would be known as the Demiurge. They seeded Elysia with its own life energies, bringing forth the Elder Gods. Towers of Smokeless Flame, and scribes of the Elder Records, including the fabled Emerald Tablets of Destiny, holding the key to Forge Life.
With the Emerald Tablets, the Elder Gods created the Outer Gods as slaves, among them some if Their own spawn, used to build material reality for Them, divided into the Primal Elements of Earth, Air, Fire, and Water. The Outer Gods would steal the Tablets and create a race of servants, the 12 Mighty Ones, who sired the race of Djinn, to aid as an army in their rebellion against their Elder Deities. With the shattering of the Twin Tablets in the War that followed, the Star would bleed into the 3rd Reality, becoming Betelgeuse, and dragged down Elysia into Matter along with it.
The nearly defeated army of Outer Gods would flee across galaxies to Earth, where they settled to recuperate. Here in the Fallen Reality, the Outer Gods themselves would beget the Great Old Ones, bound to the third world, unlike those from the higher realms. Ultimately found and subdued by the Elder Gods, those treacherous rebels were cast down among the Old Ones (Outer Gods & Great Old Ones collectively) in their exile and imprisonment. One third of the Djinn aided the Elder Gods, against those loyal to their makers, themselves seeking liberty. The third who did stay loyal to the Old Ones were stripped of power, which was then fed to those Elder aligned Djinn, becoming Angels, while those drained became Demons. Finally those who wandered & dallied among the stars, taking no stance in battle, were cast down, becoming the Faerie Folk & Trolls, the nymphs, vampires, and spirits of nature. Among themselves, they kept four Courts, an Element each. And thus, the ancestors of magic wandered the world, while their Godfathers were either sealed away in the Outer Dark beyond the Stars or Bound to the Inner Dark below the Earth. The Djinn (Angels, Demons, Fae) would mate with humans, who, although originally no different than any other mortal animal, would be anointed by the Elder Gods and develop the elements of Spirit (psionic & electric) & Blood (flesh & bone). With these magicks, they took husbands and wives among the Djinn, and brought forth the bloodlines students of Ardham University hail from, able to manipulate a Fundamental Element. When bloodlines mix, we occasionally are met with a Force Elemental, jack of all trades & master of none, more telekinetic & thermodynamic than a simple state of matter.
