1239938 which season is your favorite and what are some things you like about it?
1239938 yess i went in for a lighthearted funny read but got some more serious, in depth topics and i loved the balance!!

the writing style was SO good.. it really pulls you into the story and i didn’t want to put it down! also the characters were super well written, like a unique personality stood out with each one of them, so i really connected with that! (as opposed to those books where the characters are SO bland that you literally confuse them with each other.. oi)

jolene is seriously a vibe, like yes girl embrace those train wreck tendencies loll. but her struggles to figure out what to do with her life and feeling stuck in the same place were really relatable. i was rooting for her sm and i’m happy that she stepped out of her comfort zone a bit and finally started connecting with people!

i also loved cliff and armin as characters.. they were so out of pocket in their own ways. i mean using your coworker’s picture to fake having a fiancé? that whole storyline killed me like jolene “accidentally” running into armin’s family and then all the chaos that ensued had me laughing so hard. also jolene’s mother was hilarious despite being overbearing lol. cliff was rly sweet and funny, plus his sarcasm and way of thinking matched with jolene’s so well

the whole email thing was both funny and interesting as a reflection of office culture/society in general. so much of the time people present themselves or their opinions one way, but that’s not actually the reality and i really liked how that was portrayed. the talking behind people’s backs, the faking elements of their lives to make them seem more successful/happy/interesting.. technically every one of them was a train wreck in some area of their lives, so it really highlighted how everyone struggles with their own things even if others aren’t aware.

andddd this got long, i might as well have just written a review lmao.. some recycling may be due😂💀 but anyways this book was so good!!

1239938 just a reminder that nominations are open for our july and august reads! there are currently no books nominated so feel free to pop in and add a few :)
1239938 REAL like i literally never choose to read books like this but i am enjoying it so much! and it’s lighthearted enough to make it a fun read but still has depth of characters and everything so it’s not boring/shallow

yess i look forward to seeing thoughts in the spoilers section! and tbf word vomit discussions are more fun anyway loll
1239938 currently abt halfway through.. tbh this isn’t my usual genre of book but i’m really enjoying it! the characters are so well written and it’s got plenty of humor along with the more serious elements.. the balance is >>

jolene is a vibe and so much of her commentary is shit i would probably think/say so i feel well represented in the attitude department loll

also joey tribbiani😭 PLS

1239938 nominate your picks for july’s group read here! the genre is fantasy and you may nominate up to 3 books. seconding is no longer necessary, so if your choice has already been nominated then you just need to vote for it in the final poll :)

1239938 hey guys! just a side note that in the future it will not be necessary to second or re-nominate books.. you just have to vote for them in the final poll :)

i thought it might be a bit more straightforward, especially since we don’t have TONS of nominations that need to be narrowed down or anything. all 4 books that have been nominated are already in the poll, so if there’s any last books get them in today!
