Batman made a mental note to look into the events of the Clippers game. Hopefully there was a clue, but it would satisfy Bruce's curiosity regardless. He nodded and turned to leave Nickle's apartment. He raced to the Batcave in the Batmobile. Once he jumped out, he asked Alfred, "Given the memorial service tomorrow, would it be callous for Bruce Wayne to then pay a visit to the Iceburg Lounge, or should I send Matches Malone to put in a job application?"

((Sorry I haven't been active. I'm struggling through this semester and just haven't been in the right headspace to give this proper attention.))

Tim massaged his forehead nervously. "It's... don't shoot me for this, okay? but doesn't it seem odd that all this happened the same day the new girl started at Wayne Enterprises? Sure, she seemed to have gotten hurt, but couldn't that just be a ploy to avoid suspicion. And she dipped as soon as she could. I don't intend to act on this theory without further proof, but it's on the board." He pointed to the monitor displaying his conspiracy chart. He turned to Alfred. "Wayne Enterprises has a courier service, does it not?"

Dick smirked, "There’s nothing more sincere than a singing telegram!"

Even in his current temperment, Tim couldn't help but chuckle, "I didn't say anything about singing, but now I want to vote in favor."

"Is it funnier if we find someone with just the worst voice?" Dick asked in a deadly serious tone.

"Tim rocked his hand back and forth, and matched the tone. "Hmm...Only if he's genuinely unaware of it. But the idea is to make Eve feel better, not cause more harm. What genre? Pop, Rap, Rock... Opera?" He looked at Babs.

"You take bubble baths?" Tim called after Jason.

"Beat me by a second." Dick chimed in. He turned to Barbara. "Hm? Oh, you mean my rib? It's fine. A little sore, especially know that I'm actively thinking about it. I'll probably be a bit stiff tomorrow."

"I'm fine too." Tim said, immediately hating how selfish that came across. "Anyway," He cleared his throat and handed Alfred a sheet of paper. "Here's a couple drafts for the card. Wasn't sure whether to be formal or business casual with the tone. What kind of stuff would you put in the package? You wouldn't need to head to the mall? 'Cause I could go tomorrow if Babs wouldn't mind making a list of suggestions."

Batman narrowed his eyes. Cobblepot being involved would make sense with Tim's information from Judge Kilinger regarding a shipment. And he was known for doing Falcone’s dirty work, from being an enforcer, a fence, a dealer, and an informant, among other things. But there was some undertone to Nickel's voice Batman didn't trust. "What information would that be?" He wondered if he the man would merely summarize what little had been printed on page eight in today's paper, or grant new insight, the source of which would be its own question, or if he would try to make something up on the spot. He watched Nickle's behavior closely.

((Woke up up late and I've got a bunch of homework to get done. Will respond when I take a break.))

((That was the whole point. Gotham's Riddler is always really good, despite the plotlines for that show.

The Batman's Riddler still has an ego, because he grew up in an orphanage and is trying to prove he's a good or better than the elite, but he does so by tring to tear them down, discrediting them as frauds and exposing them to scandal. He sees himself as a savior abd a hero. And he's really only doing it for his followers on darkweb YouTube.))

"Kind of a tough ask." Tim answered. He picked up a yellow #2 pencil and a few sheets of college ruled note paper to draft his letter. "Is she insured through Wayne Enterprises or does she have a different provider?"
"Not sure exactly where you're going with that train of thought, but won't mentioning money sound like a bribe?"
"Yeah..." Tim propped his arm up on his elbow and his head on his hand. He tapped his eraser on a blank page.

"It was hardly subtle." Batman replied. "Multiple bullets to the head and his face removed." Having said that, he realized he hadn't checked the man's dental work to confirm it was actually him, though he had little reason to doubt it. What he did find odd was Ethan's implication that the murderer should be obvious. A mob hit? As he spoke, he noticed the open laptop and memorized the man's email address. It didn't seem like coincidence that he'd been led to two people with an interest in puzzles. "Anyone in particular come to mind?"
((Since Batman reads the paper, are there any notable figures who would have reason to attack him for something he printed? The mob? Cobblepot?))

((The Arkham games depict him perfectly. Stalking and obsessively keeping track of Batman's every move, coming in every time you get one of hundreds of his trophies, mocking you as you fail time and time again, popping up on TV screens to insult you publicly before a mostly empty city, and getting increasingly more frustrated as you solve his puzzles and claiming you must be cheating. He's clearly a genius but he's so annoying he motivates you into punching him and Batman is able to triangulate his position based on where he placed his puzzles and by tapping into his radio signal because he won't shut up.

Anyway, I'm about to post, I promise.))

((Not having an ego is very backwards for the character.
Cluemaster, essentially the knock off Riddler even in universe, has been described as arrogant, but it's more of a self-assured pride in his intelligence, whereas Riddler constantly feels the need to prove his own and he puts on an air of bravado and feels the need to tear others down to make himself seem bigger by contrast. Like I said, I'm not complaining about the change. Just pointing out the obvious that it is a departure from the standard.))

((I like it, but it does feel more Cluemaster to me. Not a complaint, just an observation. I'll post in a bit.))

((Would love to have Bruce take on his Matches Malone persona to investigate the mob at some point.))

"That's not to say I won't eat them." Dick said and grabbed a donut. "My understanding of this simple carb has evolved." He imitated a haughty tone of voice. "Babs, tell him about the donut we decided on for your dad."

Tim nodded. "Should I send this... Eve? Mrs. Spellman? a card to her from Bruce Wayne. I've been brushing up on my calligraphy and graphology." He asked Alfred.

"Forgive me for not using the doorbell." Batman said as he seemed to apparate from the shadows in Ethan's living room. "The window was open. Dangerous practice in Gotham." He let the irony of the statement hang in the air. "No doubt you are aware of Edward Elliot's passing this afternoon." It was a statement not a question. "Perhaps you have insight that could help me solve the mystery?" A subtle implication that could convict Nickles if he didn't tread carefully.

((Sorry. Got home, wrote a paragraph and fell asleep. Woke up long enough to save it. I'll finish tomorrow.))

((I've been out of school since the 5th and I start back on the 20th. Tomorrow is my last full day off until the second to last week of July when I'll be at the beach.))
