1246595 2/5 stars

I just feel like there wasn’t enough detail in the things that the story was truly about and too much detail in other small things that weren’t really relevant. The timeline doesn’t make sense to me no matter which way I looked at it, but the concept of the story was good and there were parts that I was really into. Overall not awful but I wish there was just more meat to the story.

1246595 This month is our good ole pal Josh's book! The Silent Patient by Alex Michaelides. I think this one is free on Spotify but the paperback is relatively cheap on Amazon and whatnot but you can always borrow a copy from someone. It is also available on Kindle Unlimited! Let us know what you think! Happy reading, folks!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

This book was sooooooo cute! It was a little spicier than I thought it would be. 🤭 It was a good book to read around this spooky time of year. I needed a good palate cleanser and this did the trick! If you want something different but still entertaining I would suggest giving it a shot.

1246595 October’s book of the month will be Remember Me Tomorrow by Farah Heron which was nominated by Kayla! It’s currently on pre-order but is releasing on October 1st on Amazon. It does look like it’s available on a variety of platforms which makes it convenient, and it should be the perfect thriller/romance for spooky season!

Happy reading, ya’ll!

1246595 Like Mother, Like Daughter

Rating: ⭐️⭐️/5

I had so much hype for this book when I read the blurb and when I was done with it I was highly disappointed. To save you all some time, basically the story goes:

1. Something happens (20 pages)
2. A bunch of irrelevant stuff. (290 pages)
3. Problem easily solved which shouldn’t make sense because of certain events that occurred during the problem resolution process. (10 pages)

Very lame. Very not mindful. Very not demure.

1246595 The Lost Apothecary
Rating: ⭐️⭐️/5

I honestly think this is the most boring book I’ve ever read (sorry D Beav). None of it made sense. I see what they were trying to do with Caroline’s story line but they really didn’t put enough effort into it like I would have liked to see. And Eliza and Nella’s stories could have had so much potential but I feel like they just fell short. Overall an okay read, I wasn’t completely unamused but I definitely wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.

1246595 The House Across The Lake

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

Ya’ll, at no point during my read did I think that was even a possibility but the storyline even up until THAT point had me HOOKED. I am generally pretty good at predicting what happens, but I absolutely did not think THAT whatsoever. I even loved all of the characters and all of their flaws. It made them super easy to keep track of and I didn’t get confused easily with there being a decent amount of people involved. It was a super easy read that kept me entertained.

It's hard for me to put down; I'm so curious!!

There aren't really chapter numbers though, so I can't even tell ya what chapter I'm on."

1246595 I loved loved loved this book. It was such a good book to finish off my reading challenge for the year with. It was semi predictable, but the way the ending wrapped everything together was absolutely phenomenal. 100/10 stars for me! If you're looking for an easy-read thriller to cleanse your palate, I highly suggest this book!

Was thoroughly impressed by this YA Mystery/Crime book. Definitely thought it would be super cheesy but honestly had my attention the entire time which is pretty hard to do. I listened to the audiobook for the majority of this one because I had a free credit from Audible and it wasn’t my favorite but when I read the physical book it was much better. There were some parts that you could definitely tell it was more YA, but the overall storyline had me hooked and on my toes the entire time. I can’t wait to read the next 2!
