Ok I’m super happy with my book collection now! Got some great books added to my shelves that I can’t wait to read. One of them is “Just One Damned Thing After Another” by Jodi Taylor. Loved he Time Police series so looking forward to reading the one that started it all.
For me 3 audio books and 1 book book read in June. Going to use some downtime from work to read my next one: “The Watchmaker of Filgree Street”
Most of mine are 800 page long books so I feel you Rachael! Also sounds hard going but interesting at the same time! Keep it up :) And well done Loz! Any decent ones so far out of the 12?
So I did finish it and it did have a slight twist but not enough for me to recommend to any one. I am listening to Kel Kades “Kings Dark Tidings” on the dog walks but I already read the books a while back….6 years agoish…..great read and audiobook, love the story so enjoying this one a second time
Not bad 7 of 18! I’m a slow reader but I did read that last one in a few weeks which ain’t bad for me. I just got the fourth book in the stalwart series so that be book 9 I reckon ^^
Fallen behind this month, like to listen to audiobooks along a dog walk but injured myself trying to play sports. Now back to it and nearly finished this one. It’s not the greatest book so really want to finish so I can start my next one as determined not to DNF, it’s a struggle though
I love Discworld books have a large collection In my library. I’m onto Cartographer book 2 “Steel” it’s better than the first one but still missing something for me. Can’t put my finger on it, @luna have you listened to “St Mary’s chronicles” and “Time Police series by “Jodi Taylor” they have a good story and humour for an Audio listen
Rachel has gotten me in the habit of having a wish list of books and i monitor them in Amazon for when they are £0.99p or their monthly booksale at start of each month for the £0.99p ones to keep costs down :D Otherwise its Charity shops...But in general i do prefer to have a book, but love the convenience of the Kindle App.
I love them Rachael! If i am doing Housework or walking the dog i will listen to an Audiobook and find it easy to take in what is happening :) Cant do it if i am reading something or working. and its all down to the voice actor, so i preview a lot and just listen to them and see if it sticks with me and then look at the catalogue of books for one that i fancy listening too :)
I love Simon Vance narration his voice is what i imagined it be like to listen to a Grandad tell stories and i loved listening too: - Lightbringer Saga by Brent Weeks
- Chronicle of the Unhewn Throne by Brian Staveley
- The Wolf of the North by Duncan M Hamilton
Also i really enjoyed the Time Police series by Jodi Taylor who was narrated by Zara Ramm. This series has some bits that i have actually openly laughed in the street! :D
Thanks both! And yes Diana I have to do a pre-listen first to get a feel for the narrator. Also let me know if you recommend any :) Will add my favs here too in case anyone is after a good walking listen
I’m not a big reader but I listen to audio books so going to push myselfRead 12 books
Listen to 12 books
Starting me off i read “Uncanny” about ghosts and became team believer after it!
And now on to Raymond Feists “Magician” because Henry Cavill said he loved this series in an interview as much as “wheel of time” my all time fav series so why not!
Audio I’m listening to book 4 “The shadow Rising” of Wheel of Time. Rosamund Pike is amazing narrator and loving her rendition of my favourite ^^
