I can understand that. I'm in the US and looked up the conversion - that does sound like a nice deal (to me, except for the fact that I have about 25 books from the series already). I'll say this - The Dragonlance stories not written by Weis and Hickman are usually not as good. At least that is my opinion. So I recommend book two, if not the book deal. Good luck.
Finish this one and read Dragons of Winter Night. If you don't like that book, then maybe the series is not for you. I really enjoy all Dragonlance by these authors, but Atutum Twilight is the introduction to the characters, to the world, and contains more general, typical fantasy, it is just getting started. The second book sets Dragonlance apart...
He was both good and evil depending on the situation. He certainly tended to be power-hungry, extremely ambitious, self-absorbed - but as Miranda noted above, he could show compassion for others such as Tas and Bupu... and what he does at then end of Legends.
There are a number of things that make the books (the Chronicles and Legends especially) outstanding. To pick one thing - I would have to say the way that the characters are written. I truly care what happens to them in the story - those that have died - I have mourned their passing as if they were not fiction, but a real person and a friend.

It may be incomplete, but covers the Companions first meeting and adventures, the five years they spent apart, the reunion, and the War of the Lance... and the Margaret Weis, Tracy Hickman books are incredible.
Hello. One of my favorite moments in this book is when Tas has to save Flint from drowning, and then the other companions from the dragon. There are so many great moments in the book (and series) - but the humor stands out here.
