Writing is something I should have started years ago, but we all need some real life to draw on. This is true even if your real life is based around Microsoft Office and Crossfit.
I wrote and published a story based on that tour in Afghanistan, and got great marks in my creative writing class for a poem based on the same. The former is in my other credited work on Goodreads. The latter will come out later this year or early next year with my chapbook of military poems with illustrations/photographs done by my wife (who is completeing a program in professional photography).
