50x66 This book is arguably Suzanne Collins' best, and its raw human reflection on corruption makes it absolutely gripping. The introduction of the Hunger Games universe began in 2008, over 17 years ago, therefore I had doubts before diving into a whole new story. My doubts were immediately squashed in the first page. Collins' use of relatable and seemingly 'normal' teenagers being thrust into a violent dystopian atmosphere never ceases to shake readers. It forced me to think about the effects of propaganda and the power of storytelling as a reflection on modern politics. She, expertly, took a story that we thought we already knew and peeled back layers of sterilization and took us to the truth about a character who is so loved by all who read. This web of a universe continues to amaze me.
However, if you choose to delve into this book, prepare yourself. The emotional turmoil is intense, and you will not be left dry-eyed. One of the best books I have ever had the pleasure of reading!!
