50x66 I have 9 girls in my class from 1st to 4th grade. It's a virtues based classed I offer for free to the community. I'm not sure how I ended up with all girls!

50x66 I'm new to goodreads. So forgive me if I break any rules I'm not familiar with. I just released my first children's book. It's called "The Most Basic of Truths". It's about finding common ground where there doesn't appear to be any. A simple activity I did in a children's class was to have a paper with a large pink heart drawn on it. The heart represents things we want to keep and like about ourselves or things we want to get better at. Outside the heart represents things we want to remove from our heart or things we don't think are an adornment we want for ourselves. Or things we don't want to be attached to. The kids can draw or list the items in each. The kids I worked with absolutely ate this up. And they were so inventive too. There were things inside the heart like the normal kindness, love, and eating well, but then there were surprises like inside the heart were people they didn't like or get along with (as in they realized they needed to work on it) and then outside the heart was stuff like tv watching, junk food, and even "stuff". As in generically, I shouldn't be attached to stuff.

Very cool activity and they loved to share their lists.
