132753 Thanks for telling me about this book and offering to BR, Maida! I'm so glad you did. I haven't been this impressed by a book in a really long time! Even though the audio version was great, I'm a little frustrated that I don't have a printed copy, so I think I'm going to buy one. So many great quotes!

132753 OK, I finished last night, and I LOVED it. 5 stars all the way. Thanks for sharing that about their research, I'm not surprised. I only have one complaint, which is very unusual for me. lol (view spoiler)

132753 On a side note, before I started this book, I happened to see this video on Facebook that a friend shared about the teen lgbt community in Utah. Suicide is the number one cause of death of youth in that state. They can't prove with those statistics that there is an lgbt link, but it's kind of obvious. Just imagine being a kid like Sebastian, who has been raised in this environment where fitting into this perfect mold of community and family is everything. It really pulls on your heartstrings.

132753 It's really hard to wrap my mind around the fact that the authors from the Beautiful Bastard series have written the best YA novel I've read this year. :) Maybe they needed to mix things up as badly as I needed to!

132753 Yes! I agree that it has more depth and better character development than that book. And I'm extremely impressed with the research they obvioulsy did to write about the Mormon community in such an authentic way. I'm listening to the audio and have three hours left, which is maybe 60%.

I actually am loving this one. It's a YA lgbt book that reminds me a little of Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda. Where are you Maida? I'm halfway now. Really good so far.

132753 So, Maida and I are going to read this if anyone is interested in joining! I won't be able to start till later today. And I'm using my audio credit for it, so it will take me forever. They also have a new book being released tomorrow that I will also read if all goes well. I'm such a sucker..... I swore these authors off after the Beautiful Bastard series started going bad, but this one sounds interesting.

132753 Oh, man...I just looked at my challenge to remind myself of what I've read. Nothing to recommend. ugh. The best book I've read this year was The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo. And I only gave it 4 stars.
