So jealous of you meeting the translator. Gave them last year as a gift, but I have only read the first one.

I listen to Books on the Nightstand, the New York Times as well as some episodes of Literary Disco. I also listen to The Readers, Adventures with Words and Hear Read This which are from Great Britain (except for Thomas on The Readers).

Just finished and really liked it. It is a book club selection and I can't wait to discuss it. Didn't know much about this period in Hemingway's life and felt like I gained some insight onto him. I still have hard time reading Hemingway himself, but it encourages me to keep trying!

I too only gave it 3 stars. I thought it could have been a little better; I love a good mystery too, but I think there was one death too many. I would give his second book a try as I liked his writing style.
