This week I read Come Fly The World: The Jet-Age Story of the Women of Pan Am by Julia Cooke Good to read about the experiencds of some of the stewardesses--the word of choice at that time--during the rescue lifts as Saigon fell. One of tje trips described here was of orphans--small infants and almost grown children. Oct 02 ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Vanessa, glad you are catching up. We have Cool Down Week thread open to be used for as long as it is needed. Also we have another thread in the general section: End of 2025 Reading Game. I will post again there tomorrow after I finish another book.
Next year I will read The Lottery and Other Stories by Shirley Jackson along with maybe another scary story by Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley. (I have just read Transformation. Eerie.)
Sonya it took me until late in my 50s to read Dracula. When the reader is ready, the book will still be there!
