135945 I’ve really enjoyed her Ted talks, and the book does sound interesting! Added to my list. Thanks for the recommendation.

135945 I'm curious what other members have as their best book of 2024 (so far), so I can add some more to my to-read list. Any suggestions?

The best I've read has been Dominion - https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/7...
135945 Looks like an interesting read!

135945 I've tallied up the annual reading challenge results. Impressive results overall!

36 INSEADers gave themselves a 2020 Reading Challenge, and 35 of those entered progress.

The average books pledged this year was 26. Up from 2018's 24.
The average of all Goodreads users was 61 books.
The max pledge in the INSEAD group was 100 books.

33% made it to 100% or more of their goal.
53% made it to 75% or more of their goal.
69% made it to 50% or more of their goal.

The top three who blew past their goals were:
Jiji 190%, Nicholas Lanoue 171%, Eugene Belkin 160%.

Ali Asad reported the highest number of books read at 100.

Happy New Year! Start 2021 right by joining in the Reading Challenge and giving yourself a goal for the year.

26% of INSEADers in the Goodreads group took the 2018 Reading Challenge.
24% completed their 2018 challenge (vs. 22% in 2017) - this is the same as the average Goodreads user completion at 24%
91% made progress on their challenge.
Challenge average: 24 books in 2018 (In 2017 was 18) - 33% growth in 2018

135945 All,

The INSEAD Library has been kind enough to prepare a list of new books from INSEAD Professors for us as well as recent books by Alumni.

Books by INSEAD professors:

135945 Hello Fellow INSEADers!

I've tallied up the group progress in the 2018 Reading Challenge and the highlights are as following:

2 have already completed their challenge (9.6% of the group)
6 are at 75% or more of the challenge = on schedule (18% of the group)
Average challenge completion today is at 48% vs. 33% same time in 2017
4 of the group didn't add any books in Q2 & Q3 (12% of the group)
Average commitment: 24 books in 2018 (In 2017 was 18)

135945 interesting idea. I'll see if they have some sort of similar list.

135945 All,

I visited INSEAD to ask for their assistance in preparing a list of books written by INSEAD professors or students. They have agreed to prepare that, and I'll add into the bookshelf once its ready.

Is there anything else we should ask them for?

135945 All,

22% of the group members have joined in the 2018 Goodreads Reading Challenge to date, pledging an average of 24 books each.

So far, 21 of you have already made progress on your goals, but only 2 of the group are ahead of the 30% mark on their goals. To those behind the pace, which unfortunately includes myself, as we say in Asia, "加油“ (add oil...or roughly, "Come on, you can do it")!

A chart of the current results is out.

For those of you who haven't given yourself a challenge for 2018, please join in!

135945 Dear INSEAD Readers,

The 2017 Reading Challenge is done, and I've tallied up the results.

51 INSEADers joined in the challenge by selecting a personal goal for books to read during 2017. The average pledge was to read 25 books.

22% completed their challenge (11 of the group)
29% made it to 70% or more of their challenge (15 of the group)
67% made progress on their reading goals (34 of the group)

33% made the commitment, then didn't add any books.

Kudos to Andreia who led the results, reading 210% of her goal.

Here is how the distribution looked at the end of the year.

135945 Here is where the group is on the 2017 Reading Challenge at the end of Q3.

The group has 111 members, of which 52 gave themselves a goal for reading as part of the challenge.

32 of these have made progress toward their goal (61.5%)
10 are at 75% or more of their goal at the end of Q3 (19%)
5 have completed or exceeded their goal (9.6%)

Here is a graphic of how things have changed over time.

135945 Hello INSEADers!

It is the end of Q2 and we are 1/2 way through the 2017 challenge.

There are 110 members in the group, and of those, 50 have joined in and given themselves a reading challenge for 2017.

I've put together a chart of where everyone is for completion in Q1 vs. Q2 here:

https://www.dropbox.com/s/5pw364snuoy...

A number of you are ahead of the timeline, but the majority are behind your goals.

Many of you are still at 0 books for your challenge, though the number with 0 books dropped in Q2.

As a group, we started off strong in Q1, but have dropped behind in meeting our goals in Q2.

Come on guys, grab a book this weekend - its summer!

135945 Cool suggestion!

I assume many of the group members have Amazon Prime memberships. If so, be sure to check out Prime Reading's free Kindle books every month.
