This month we are reading, "Brave New World" by Aldous Huxley. Please come and join our always lively literary discussion. It’s never a dull moment in this book club. We are readers, writers and lovers of the written word. Let’s eat, drink and discuss literature!

Topics discussed in our book club last night: quantum physics, Frankenstein, aliens, the etymology of the color blue, the decline of the newspaper, creating your own reality, the uber homogenization of global media, the ego of the writer, racism, goat-napping, misogyny, and the morality of hunting. September's book is "The Magician's Assistant" by Ann Patchett. Date and location of next meeting TBA. Read and Write on!

Thank you everyone who came out to our first book club meeting tonight! Our discussion covered a wide variety of topics and there wasn't a dull moment. We decided as a group that our next book will be 'Green Hills of Africa' by Ernest Hemingway. We will meet again on Monday, August 11th (7:30pm) at Community Cafe, 2444 Central Ave. St. Pete. We hope you will join us!

The First Rule About Book Club book for July is a short one: at reader Daun Fletcher's suggestion, "Key Notes: A Collection of Folk Tales From the Florida Keys."We'll meet at 6:30 p.m. at Cappy's Pizza on July 14.
