YA Bookaholic, even though I really hoped that everyone else was going to have a more positive experience with Alienated, I'm glad there was someone else to confirm what I felt about this book.

However, I'm really glad you enjoyed it much more than we did Michelle!

Thanks for the invite for this read along and despite the fact that I didn't really enjoy the book, I was happy to have been apart of this one as my first read along. :)

Overall, I really felt like I was trying to find something in the book that just wasn't there. Apart from my natural curiosity to discover the outcome and whether or not the alliance would be formed between Earth and L'eihr, there really was nothing that truly interested me in this book.

The characters were dull, the romance seemed forced, the climax wasn't all that great. Basically the ending was the best part of the book because I was truly happy to be finally finished with the book and that I didn't have to read another page.

I was really hoping that Tori was going to stick it out and stand by Cara in her support of the L'eihr exchange program and her belief in Aelyx. But clearly I hoped for too much!

I can understand Tori finally getting tired of being a part of the minority and deciding to join the group against the alliance. But to go after her best friends (scratch that-ex best friends) ex-boyfriend was really cruel. On top of that, she then tried to convince Cara again to join them! Not only did Tori betray her trust but even if Cara did decide to abandon Aelyx, their friendship would never be the same.

And then we have Aelyx. Aelyx, Aelyx, Aelyx!!! Everytime I think that the guilt is finally getting to him, he reminds himself of what he came to Earth to do. It's so frustrating! I feel so bad for Cara because she is putting so much faith and trust into Aelyx and he just keeps proving that he doesn't deserve it.

I just hope the guilt gets to him enough and he changes his mind before it's too late!

I really hope Aelyx changes his mind about going through whatever secret plan him and his friends have created. Although it still hasn't been revealed what exactly this plan is, it is apparent that it will affect Cara and Tori in a very negative way.

Cara and Tori are putting so much a risk and going against nearly everyone in their community to give Aelyx a chance. But, this is ultimately putting a strain on Cara and Tori's friendship as well as the relationships between Cara, her parents and Tori's relationship with everyone else.

I really do like the small glimpses, though, that we are seeing of the changes that Cara is having on Aelyx. Likewise, the changes in Aelyx's personality due to the day-to-day experience he is having on Earth. He seems to be loosing more control of his emotions and becoming a bit less 'alien' to Earth.

Okay, so I definitely think I've warmed up to both Aelyx and Cara. They're characters aren't as dull as I first thought they were and I''m sort of liking the relationship that is forming between them.

I'm really curious about what this secret plan that Aelyx and his friends keep mentioning and how it will affect the alliance between Earth and L'eihr.

I'm also really looking forward to reading more about Aelyx's internal struggle on completing the secret plan that him and his friends wish to accomplish and his feelings on how this plan will affect Cara in a negative way.

I think the beginning is a bit dull and confusing and it doesn't really make me excited for the rest of the book. However, I have read many books that have also had a bit of a rocky beginning that I have ended up loving!

As for the characters, none of them really stand out for me. I mean Cara is okay, but nothing special.

Hopefully, within the next few chapters the characters will grow on me.
