138785 I'm reading Elizabeth is Missing by Emma Healey. So well observed it's scary in places. Anyone else reading something that reflects the happenings in their lives, recent or more distant?

This changes depending on what else is happening in life. I really adored the Wind in the Willows. Also have an enduring soft spot for Bilgewater by Jane Gardam.

I loved that, too, as a child and cried buckets. anne stenhouse

138785 Hi and thank you for the invitation. I'm reading a pile of stuff as is usual for me. I need to have some fiction on the go, No Suspicious Circumstances by Mulgray Twins (Helen and Morna. they're in my writers' club) and Deal Before The Altar by Rachael Thomas who is also a friend - ain't I lucky? I'm also deep into a biography of Bess of Hardwicke and a super catalogue about Kew Palace. Anne Stenhouse
