If you're looking for something in the vein of "Hitchhiker's Guide" or "Good Omens" but you want something shorter and weirder — flash fiction length rather than novel — I'd suggest checking out Fifth World Problems: Complaints from a Deprecated Reality.

It scratches a very similar itch: the universe is absurd, the bureaucracy is eternal, and the humor is dark enough to need sunglasses but not so dark you need a therapist (probably).

The "complaints" format is clever — each piece works as a standalone micro-story, but they accumulate into something that feels like a complete worldview. Very much in the spirit of Adams or early Pratchett in terms of treating profound existential dread as a logistical inconvenience.
