The Demigod FilesBy Rick Riordan
The Stolen Chariot (One of three stories in The Demigod Files)
Percy Jackson unintentionally met Clarisse (at Percy's school in Manhattan, when she was being attacked by ravens), to get back a stolen chariot. But it wasn't some old chariot, it was the chariot of Aries, the god of war(Clarisse is supposed to ride her dad's chariot ). The chariot was stolen by her immortal brothers, Phobos(fear) and Deimos(terror). But on their way to Staten Island to retrieve the chariot, they encountered both Phobos and Deimos. Percy helped Clarisse to defeat both Phobos and Deimos to get the chariot back.
I thought that it was really interesting because it showed both Clarisse's and Percy's worst fears. I liked how Percy and Clarisse worked together since they are opposites and natural enemies. (In the first book, Percy soaked Clarisse with toilet water.) I liked how it improves their friendship.
The 39 Clues by Rick Riordan
Dan and Amy Cahill’s Grandmother had just recently passed away so they went to her funeral. At the funeral, certain people received invitations to a private meeting, including Dan and Amy. They learned at the meeting that their Grandmother had organized the meeting and asked Mr. Macentire, her lawyer, to present a challenge. Either take a million dollars of inheritance from Grace Cahill (Dan and Amy’s Grandmother) or take the challenge, which would take them around the world and possibly become the most powerful Cahills in all of history.
I liked the book because it had lots of suspense. For example, sometimes they were trapped in places like the catacombs and couldn’t find their way out. It also had a good taste of adventure like when they were in the catacombs or when they were in the Franklin Institute in Philadelphia. They had to look for documents that had clues hidden in these places. Dan and Amy tried to find them before another one of their competitors found the clues.
The Son of NeptuneThe Heros of Olympus
Book 2
by Rick Riordan
Percy Jackson doesn’t remember anything before he started his journey at the Wolf House. Percey was chased by gorgons, close relatives to Medusa, for three days. He ran them over with the police car, dropped a crate of bowling balls on them, and cut them up a million times but they wouldn’t stay dead. They always dissolved into powder when he killed them, but they would always reform. They couldn’t kill him either. Whenever they would try to bite him or scratch him, they couldn’t because they couldn’t penetrate his skin. They said that he had the curse of Achilles and he didn’t even know what that meant. They said that right before he jumped off the side of a hill using a snack platter as a sled. He was traveling down the hill at about 25-30 mph and when he got to the bottom on the side of the road. He then noticed that there was a homeless lady next to him. She told him that “all will be lost if you don’t carry me to camp.” He didn’t know what that meant, but the gorgons were coming in fast. He ran into a tunnel with two Roman looking guards and they didn’t bother him, but they aimed for the gorgons. One of the guards, named Frank, escorted them through the tunnel. When he got out of the tunnel, he saw a river and across the river, a camp that clearly was Roman.

I like how Rick Riordan describes the places that the characters go. For example, when the characters go to Alaska, the author described it as being wild and the land beyond the Gods. I like how the author describes the characters point of view and how they think because it feels like he relates to past things that the character has done in previous books or times within the book. For example, when Percy creates a mini hurricane. Percy did this same thing in The Last Olympian. This is the last book of the Percy Jackson and the Last Olympian series.
