You're welcome, and don’t worry..."

I read Cluny Brown three months ago. I think it's a brilliant portrait of a young woman living in the thirties. She's very free, unconventional, curious about anyone and anything!

I'm about to read "Miss Buncle's Book" too. It seems to be quite a hilarious story!

I won't thank you enough for telling me about these three publishing houses I didn't know! Especially in Virago I've seen many authors I loved. Even though my understanding of English is quite better than my ability to speak (or write as you can see) I still find reading in Italian more relaxing and entertaining. So I hope there'll be a translated edition of these amazing books.

Especially these days, I prefer novels that convey a good mood and a sense of lightness through humor and wit. I've just finished reading "Patricia Brent, spinster" and I really enjoyed it.

Now I'm considering starting Jean Webster's "Much Ado About Peter". On my shelves, waiting for their turn: D. E. Stevenson, Stella Gibbons, Edith Nesbit, Daphe du Maurier, and Barbara Pym. But, thanks to your advice, now I see there's so much choice! :-)
Considering that you enjoy this same period of time, I'm curious to know what you're reading!

P.s. I'm not into mystery novels at the moment, but if I will in the future I'll join that group for sure! ;-)

140069 Hi everyone! I'm Ludovica and I'm Italian.

I've recently found out that I really like a certain generation of writers whose works were published mainly between the twenties and the forties. Those novels are so elegant and witty, exactly what I love to read. I'm very disappointed to see that not all these author's books have been translated into Italian. What a shame.

I would like to discover new authors and also chat with people that share the same passion. I couldn't find anything in my mother language so specific like this group, so I hope you won't mind if I join you!
