Great! Her books were already available in digital format to loan for a couple of years, but it's different to have your own. I already got "The Far Pavilions" in eBook format. I now buy digital copies of my favourites and keep them safely stored in the cloud, after losing so many of my paperbacks and hardcovers over the years during moves.

Oh, thank you, thank you.
*kisses Diane's hand*
I was about to lament that I'd likely have to get the older copy now... :D

Update: My copy is from 1979, blister it! :'(

I didn't know of this editing. Must go check my version now, hadn't even paid attention to the publication date of my copy.

"Zemindar" can be borrowed in PDF and ePub formats from Open Library, did you know? Check it out. Here's the link:

It's so much easier for me to power through long books when I don't have to read paper copy! But I'm still looking forward to this though."You can borrow it in eBook format from Open Library, by the way, they have it in PDF and ePub.

Not going to reread, but will follow along with your comments! :)

"God is an Englisman" is part of the Swann saga, but no need to read them in order, I didn't and nothing was lost, as each novel is a standalone. I'd recommend you to start with the mentioned one, and if you never read the others, no worries, the story in each concludes in each book too.

As for Zemindar, never thought it was bad, honestly, just that at the time I was saturated. You know that happens, that sometimes the mood of the moment influences your reading, and when you reread or resume it at a later time, your impression is different. That happened to me, I believe.

By the way, you know if Ginsburg has a Far Pavilions cover too? He should specialise in covers for Raj novels!

Here it is.
And more to be seen at his website: http://www.ginsburgillustration.com/"My goodness!!!! It's so beautiful... I'm going to save it, use the software and print it :D.
A million thanks, Misfit, you're a sweetie. I know I abandoned Zemindar, but always had a plan to pick it up and resume it when I was in a better mood. Hope it's soon!

No, I haven't! Link, please? If you have it.

The Ginsburg cover is my favourite, I found it when I first read the book and was so in love with it that I donwloaded the highest resolution I could find, tweaked it with image software to make it print-ready, and plan to re-bind my book with that cover :D.

If all that fails, I could help Samanta, if she is willing to PM me, of course.

And they do lend digital copies to users from other countries. You only need to have an Adobe Digital Editions reading software to download it to your PC if you don't have an e-reader, and be registered in the site. It's for free.

Thanks, Marquise! Good to know."You're welcome! I won't be joining as I already read it, but will keep an eye on you all to see how you like this :).

It's also available in digital format (PDF) at Open Library, for those of you who have access to it. That's how I got my copy to read last year.
Misfit wrote: "Interesting thoughts. I think I might have to reread them all to look for the similarities. Alex in Shadow of the Moon was pretty swoon worthy IMO."Yes, he was! If only he'd gotten a better companion...
