Outliers: The Story of Success
Any other book by Malcolm Gladwell is a good read as well, such as Blink or Outliers.
The Tipping Point deals with the spread of ideas, almost treating them as if they were spreading similar to a virus. Additionally, it talks about underlying reasons that some ideas have such a profound impact while others do not, basically summarized in 3 laws (Law of Few, Stickiness Factor, Power of Context). There are several anecdotes which demonstrate those laws in action.
I would highly recommend Guns, Germs and Steel for anyone interested in reading about the factors which caused a divergence in how each society developed. For example, why the Western Europeans developed technology and colonized the world, compared to societies native to Americas and Africa which often remained as hunter-gatherer societies.
