((( That's fine )))"Yes, alright, perfect then" Lord Duvont told them both nodding slightly. "Like I previously mentioned, you both will have to depart almost immediately." he paused glancing down at his heavy set leather notebook, Nina assumed it had all of his calendars, and notes in it. "You have until daybreak tomorrow to get yourselves ready, once you leave this office you will have exactly thirty minutes before you're summoned to Madame Feischers's quarters to be tailored, and measured for your outfits for the journey". Nina was absently nodding along to whatever the Lord was saying, on the inside she was going ballistic. She couldn't believe this opportunity. "You're dismissed" Duvont added, and went back to his computer as if they weren't even there.
Nina got up and headed to the door.
"Ah yes, come in" Lord Duvont said to them both. Once they were seated he began, "Before I begin, I need you both to know this must be of utmost confidentiality." Nina nodded, of course she knew how these things worked. Once the Lord had finished telling them the basics of the plan, he paused, "before I continue, do I have both your consent to go forward with the plan?"
Nina nodded hurriedly, "obviously, this is the chance of a lifetime. I would be honoured to help the Academy"
((( I really don't wanna write out the whole assignment so I'm just gonna tel you what it is:
There's this criminal organization that's super secretive and they're not sure who runs it or anything. All they know is that they've been looking for new recruits and the Academy has only one shot. so they're sending Alex and Nina to go check it out and work as their intel. They have to leave ASAP )))?
"The one and only" Nina replied grudgingly, although she enjoyed the spot light being Raphael's daughter gave her, she also hated all the opinions and judgements that came with it. On top of everything else, she was annoyed, what could she possibly have common with this miscreant that they were both called down to the office. "What about you, Alexander, don't you have a last name?" She asked trying to get more information on him but by then they were already at the office and he was opening the large ebony doors for her. The office truly was beautiful, something right out of an old gothic novel. The floor was panelled in lush hardwood, and most of the walls were colossal french windows through which you could see the sweeping grounds of the Academy.
"Ms. Seraph, Mr. Alex, Lord Duvont is waiting for you" a tiny secretary of a man stood behind the solid cherrywood desk. She nodded at him as she made her way to the Lord Duvont's office, she wondered what all this could be about.
Nina was taken aback and she just stared at him as he mouthed off to her and barely caught her phone as he carelessly tossed it to her. She didn't know what to say, honestly, she wasn't trying to hint that demons were probably the sole runners of this criminal organization, but she could understand how she could come off that way. Because if she was being completely honest then yes, she did suspect that the organization was probably demonic and yes, there from were affiliates of the organization who went to this very school. She wouldn't be surprised if this demon boy was one of them. "Nina Seraph and Alexander please come to the Head Office immediately" the speakers boomed, for the entire school to hear.
Oh god, Nina thought as she made her way down to the office.
Nina turned red, he went through her pictures?. She desperately hoped he hadn't gotten to any risque ones, got knows how many scantily clad pictures she took. "Give. Me. My. Phone" she repeated, stressing each word, hoping to penetrate the thick skull of his head. He wanted to know about the assignment, how could he not? It was probably all over the school by now, everyone would be talking about it, at least she thought. Either way, there was no harm in telling him, it's not like he could change who was going at this point, and quite frankly she just wanted her phone so she could get far away from him. "The assignment dummy, apparently there's some huge criminal organization that needs to be scoped out and we're the best bet for the job I guess" she told him. "Now, phone!"
If Nina was annoyed earlier, she was furious now. How dare a scum born like him, take her phone, but then have the audacity to go through it! "I swear to god-" she started as she reached him, he dark tumbling out of it's loose french braid. She tried to compose herself, unconsciously running her hand through her locks, trying to get them back in her braid.
"My phone?" she asked in what she hoped was a calm voice, and held out her hand indicating for him to place the phone back.
Nina distractedly nodded goodbye to her friend, not wanting to take her eyes off of her phone. She was getting constant updates on the Assignment, where it was going to be, what it was going to be, and most importantly who was deciding who was going to go on it. She was just about to read the names of the deciding leaders, when she sensed him. As the daughter of Raphael, one of the most powerful archangels, Nina had a strong affinity to sensing demonic auras and his was incredibly strong for a half-born. "Hey!" she shout out in surprise when she felt her phone being torn out of her hand. The good for nothing demon child had grabbed it and was now running away from her like some toddler with forbidden candy. Rolling her eyes she had no choice but to run after him.
Elena was unsuccessfully trying to hold a conversation with her friend while they were walking to class but her phone was blowing up. Shooting her an apologetic look, she glanced down at her cracked phone screen. "Hm" she said aloud, apparently there were rumours that the Academy was about to hand out one of the biggest assignments this year, and everybody wanted to go. Of course, she was no different. She hadn't gotten a good assignment in months, and her father would be extremely glad if she scored this one but what were the chances?
