American Gods, by Neil Gaiman. Received it as a thank-you gift from a coworker a while back, and finally have the time to enjoy it.
Added another. It's more sci-fi than truly 'fantasy,' but it introduced me to the concept of LARP about the time White Wolf Studios was starting to introduce their LARP products.
As was pointed out to me, many of us write, too!So let's hear about your work-in-progress, shall we? :-)
Hi, Sandra! To be honest, I'd gotten out of serious reading a couple of years ago. Made the excuse that I didn't have time. But things have changed, and I'm making room in my life for books again.
I have a mix of dead-trees and kindle-copies. I've always been partial to high-fantasy (Lewis' Narnia and Tolkien, Bullfinch and the like). I'm coming to love Gaiman and Pratchett after reading "Good Omens." I like my share of sci-fi as well, but I'm losing my taste for modern space-westerns and leaning more toward the classics: Heinlein, Burroughs' Barsoom, Verne, etc.
Also adding a fair dose of corporate-strategy nowadays, purely as survival-skill development. :P
Hail and well-met, friends and fans, members of The Quest Army all!I created this little haven for us to share whatever books we're reading amongst ourselves. No limits on subject-matter: we can't spend all of our time in the fantasy-realms, can we? (I know, I know...) So feel free to share whatever subject/genre you're working on!
And as the group rules say, "Be kind, be courteous, or be banished." Banhammers exist, but I'm very loathe to use them.
Again, welcome!
