I'm reading Grandfathers Tale which is about a boy named George going to his great grand father Georg's house for the summer. He is starting to come to the age of death and Georges father wants him to spend as much time with him possible. He is also instructed to remember everything that his grandfather says because he served in WWII and has told no one, not even his wife, what he did there or what happened. So far I am on page 34 and Georg has finally decided to open his mouth on the doings of many long years ago. He tells of when he was "enlisted" for the war effort. He was more or less taken by force to the recruiters office by two German soldiers when he refused to appear for the summons of his enlistment. I view that is the only connection between this book and Night. So far not much information on the holocaust has been stated. only the occasional story of being attacked.
I am sticking with my original culprit, Daisy. She made Gatsby and her cousin Nick look like a fool. She made it look like she was still in love with Gatsby instead of telling him that she has a family and doesn't want to divorce this man she married while Gatsby was away at war. She played everyone, including Tom. Shes in it for the ride, or in other words she doesn't really care what happens or who she hurts. All she cares about is looking good at the end of the day.
Before we started the book I thought modernism would have been the easiest because in the 30's everyone was thinking big and trying to move toward the future. However, after finishing the book it seems that feminism would be the easiest. I say that because there were many comments that refereed to women in a disrespectful manor, like they were an easy thing to obtain, kind of like a pet that talks back.
I think that the most dangerous character in the book is Daisy. She has knowledge of tom cheating on her and yet she stands by and does nothing to prevent it. I think that she is doing something that has a very low profile or she is going to snap and everyone will be in trouble.
I think I would have to be the main character from the book The Compound. The reason why is because he is in a state of the art facility underground and he doesn't have to worry about anything that is going on around him. He can literally do what ever he feels like doing.
