After reading to page 117 three similarities that my Soldier X has to Night are what follows. the first comparison I made was with the main character Erik, like Ellie in the beginning of night, was kind of in a disbelief state of mind of everything going on around him. Another comparison is when Erik basically lies about his identity to stay alive, the same thing happens in Night with the selection in the beginning. Lastly the final comparison is how in both books the Russian military presence was both noted and became a strong part of the plot of the stories.
For marxism as my theory i connected by gatsby. Gatsby believed he was no diferent than tom and his dream was amarican at heart. The beliefe that he could attain anything through the fruits of his labor (the american dream) was what Gatsby believed in. Tom was the force that kind of ripped and destroyed this beliefe out of gatsby. Tom knew how Gatsby actually earned his living and with that began to tear him apart. Tom tore him apart by telling him that his dreams werent ever going to come true with daisy.
Now that we have finished this book my opinion on the most dangerous character has changed. I originally thought murdle was going to be the most dangerous character. Now i believe Murdles husband jeorge is. I believe he is a distant but constant threat after the news of his wife cheating. He honestly goes crazy knowing his wife cheated on him but to whom he doesnt know.
In my opinion Gatsby is the most dangerous character. I think because Gatsby plays a stand by and over watching character. To me this seems to make him look like he has his own plan for nick. From the start you can see Gatsby has a interest in nick for some reason other than friendly co-existing. The biggest evidence of this was when Gatsby gave nick the invitation to the party however every one there just showed up for it without one.
