Kanan is like a cross between Qui-gon Jinn and Han Solo, and Hera reminds me a lot of Jaina Solo for some reason.I am excited to see what they are going to do with these characters. My biggest concern is that I am a no sure how they are treating the dark side of the force. I hope they clear that up before the end of the book are at least soon. I hope we don't have to wait for the Asajj Ventress book, but we might.
I didn't expect Vidian to be such a dark villain. His cold-hearted, sith-like, devilish business methods and violence shocked me a bit.I haven't finished the book yet, but I have a feeling he will not be in the Star Wars: Rebels TV Show. I can't imagine Disney allowing someone so dark and vicious on the show, but it does make be curious how they will do the Inquisitor.
He is a fun villain, I can't wait to see him meet his end.
Skelly has to be one of the dumbest characters I have read in a book. I have met people like him, and I always shake my head and ask, "How is he still alive?"I love his earnestness and faith in the system, and I can understand how that has blinded him to the reality of the Empire, but DAMN, he is dim.
I can't wait to find out what happens to him, though I can guess.
This story was much darker. It was a meditation on death and uninterested nature of the beast and how that affects the people in the world.Part of me wishes this was longer. I really wanted more about churchmen in the story. I know most of my fiction deals with faith and spirituality, but I was so intrigued by how they responded to the Kaiju.
I love the darkness of the story. It reminded me of the feel of a Torchwood episode without an obvious Captain Jack.
I suppose the fact that I want so much more means that the story did what it was suppose to. It got my mind running.

This story was just fun. It was playful in a way I would expect from an anime. Part of me wants an aftermath story about the what happens on the pier after the events of the story. The personal aspects of the story were touching. For some reason it made me think of an SDF theme park.
