In the realistic-fiction novel The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian by Sherman Alexie Arnold shows how determined he is to achieving his goals. This is shown when he gets up to keep trying to get into the basketball team even though he was hurt and tired and wanted to take a break. "90% of me wanted to take the break, but I knew that if I did I would never make it on the team." This shows that Arnold is determined to get on the basketball team because of how he's working to achieve his goals. In conclusion, Arnold is determined because of how hard he works to achieve his goals.
