147456 Also, anyone who hasn't yet read The Night Circus, definitely check it out and see if it looks good to you. I loved it!

147456 I'm not reading it right now but The Name of the Wind reminds me of The Shadow of the Wind - for some reason! :)

The Shadow of the Wind (The Cemetery of Forgotten Books, #1) by Carlos Ruiz Zafón

Great book! It's not fantasy; I looked at a review that called it the "book book genre" - ha. But it's excellent, and the writing is mesmerizing! I just bought it this Christmas for my nephew, who loves to read, because I wanted to share a fabulous book with him.

147456 Hi, all! I'm Pam Stucky, an author of many books. The latest is a YA sci-fi adventure ... I'm intrigued reading your introductions because I had so much difficulty trying to decide whether it's sci-fi, fantasy, sci-fi fantasy, fantasy adventure, or other! I'll post it over in the November contest page, but it's called The Universes Inside the Lighthouse.

I, too, love the Harry Potter series. I couldn't say which book I love best, because what I love is the world-creation. JKR did an amazing job of building a world so rich and convincing that I'm sure most of us here have a vivid image of what we think it would be like. Quite an accomplishment! I've been fascinated by magic and other worlds since I was a kid, and the HP books just open up imaginations like none other. And I'm not ashamed to admit I love the movies as well as the books. The ending scenes of the final movie always bring a lump to my throat. Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant.

Brianne (and others) have you gone into the YA forums to let readers know this group is here? Just trying to think how to connect with interested and like-minded people!
