someone mentioned august is romance awareness month so i took it as a perfect excuse for me to pick up a new romance book! as no straight romance seems to be conquering me this year, i've decided to pick Here We Go Again. i have yet to write my review, but if you enjoyed The Dead Romantics you may like this one too. ⭐⭐⭐⭐.
Currently reading A Torch Against the Night, the 2nd of the An Ember in the Ashes series, and it has 3 POVs.
Have you heard of this book prior to the read a long? NoWhat are your expectations for this book based upon the title and/or cover art? A romcom, nothing too serious or impressive
Have you started the book? Are you waiting for a copy? Have you finished? I got the ebook and plan on starting next week maybe
Hi, guys! I think this is my first time participating in a weekly check-in, even though I'm a member since 2021. Last year I didn't participate because I lowkey hated the challenges. It would make me add more books to my TBR than actually crossing it off, which is not something I wanna do. Anyways, when this year's list finally came out I liked it much more, so now here I am! My only expectation is that I'll be able to finish it completely (it would be the first time, since I only read 21 in 2021 and can't remember what and if I read in 2022).During this first complete week of 2024 I decided to actually make plans on how to successfully accomplish my goals. I always just write them and think I somehow will remember them all, so this year I'm determinated to change this. The point is: busy week and little time for reading, although I did finish 3 books.
FINISHED:
The House in the Cerulean Sea by T.J. Klune: such a lovely book! I didn't think I would like it so much as I do, but turns out it's just one of those books you can't stop thinking about. I loved the characters, the atmosphere, the writing... Definitely will be picking up more things from the author! Read it for the cozy fantasy challenge.
QOTW: this was my first read of the year! I'm happy I began with a happy note.
POPSUGAR: #15, #23, #38
Around the Year: #1, #15, #28
Love, Theoretically by Ali Hazelwood: in the middle of some rough readings I needed a romance and Ali always seems to write some good ones. I had some expectations for this one, since I've been hearing some good things about it, but it let me down a bit. Male character didn't have much of a personality and the last 30% didn't have much emotion.
POPSUGAR: need an opinion here! Does this fits on the enemies to lovers plot (#32)?
Things Have Gotten Worse Since We Last Spoke and Other Misfortunes by Eric LaRocca: so freaking good!!! Love Eric's writing, the reread of THGWSWLS were just as amazing (and disturbing) as the first time and out of the "new" ones I enjoyed "You'll Find It's Like that All Over" the best, what a page-turner!

week three! honestly the day i come here and say "this was an incredible week" it's probably the end of the world. bolsonaro never gives a rest to brazilians. anyway, this has been a great month of reading for me, so at least that :)• i finished reading Little Women yesterday and, oh god! what an amazing book! a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️, with no doubt! it fits the 12, 33 and i think 29 challenge prompts?
• i'm currently reading Uprooted (25% now, not sure if i'm enjoying it or not), Red, White & Royal Blue (this one is actually very fun! even though i was expecting something else from it, it's not making me bitter about it, so i'm taking it as a good thing) and rereading The Selection(...yeah. one of my favorites booktubers read and made a video talking about it. i've been wanting to reread it for some time now, so this just kinda helped me in a way). i am hoping to finish 2 of them next week.
• QOTW: my reward is that i can see my stats with new info hahaha i feel even more of a reader, if it makes sense. it also motivates me!
