I just finished another book this weekend- it fit prompt #8 advanced ( book written in 20th century)

It was The Secret History by Donna Tartt, we read it for our book club (we had a virtual phone club to discuss it). I wasn't a big fan of this book, didn't hate it but didn't love it either. felt this way about Goldfinch as well.

my blog post about it is here: https://titlesurfingwithtraci.blogspo...

This brings me to 7/10 advanced prompts

This was the final book in the Spies Lie series which I have not read before. It reads fine as a standalone. I read it as an ARC from Hidden Gems and really enjoyed it. I will probably go back and read the rest of the series

Also read by Lisa Shay which didn't fit any prompts. It was a fun cozy in a new series about a veterinarian who has the ability to communicate with animals. Interested to see more

currently finishing The Secret History by Donna Tartt
and
This Is Going to Hurt: Secret Diaries of a Junior Doctor

As for social media i was on FB a lot earlier in the week but then read a post that caused me to have a mass anxiety moment so for now i am trying to just skip through stuff quickly my husband and son have both been home for 2 weeks working and eschool . that takes almost all day for them both, you'd think i'd be more reading productive but i found myself trying to catch up on old reading and recipe emails i had been saving

next week is spring break here and we are not going to Turks & Caicos as planned obviously so we have decided to do a virtual cruise with planned activities each day- that way we won't have a 15yo on video games all day. should make it somewhat fun
Mar 16, 2020 05:42PM

last week i read
Treason by Stuart Woods for A book that's published in 2020

https://titlesurfingwithtraci.blogspo... I really enjoyed this book although I did find it unsettling at times but that was the author's intention I'm sure

Someone We Know by Shari Lapena for A book published the month of your birthday July

https://titlesurfingwithtraci.blogspo.... This was another great thriller by this author. Definitely want to read everything by her since this is the 3rd I've read and loved

I also read
An Appetite for Murder by Lucy Burdette but didn't find any prompts for it to fit into

I'm currently reading
Fleishman Is in Trouble- I am not really blown away by it but it is holding my attention

Lab Girl for my women in Stem and it also fit for some GirlXoXo challenges- award and keyword for Feb

The Secret History by Donna Tartt for my Book Club.

as for Length of books I think I most enjoy 25-400 page books. I don't mind longer ones as long as they hold your attention. I think I just like the variety of reading lots of books vs being on 1 book for too long.

I am currently listening to Wizard: The Life and Times of Nikola Tesla: Biography of a Geniusby Marc Seifer and it is really dragging to the point I may just DNF it. But on the other hand we read Cathedral of the Sea for my book club and I still have it to finish not because it is dragging on too long but simply because it takes a while to read even though it is engaging and i want to keep reading
