I actually created a section for the reading challenge in my own Discord. I'm just starting out streaming so there's not a lot of people in it. And most of them are more gamers than readers! I'm hoping to get a few people interested in the idea as the year progresses. But yes, a Discord channel would be great. Can you imagine just being able to jump into voice chat for a discussion on the books you're reading for a particular prompt?!

This is exactly why I've only seen the first episode and am waiting to read the book. I know it is different with regards to setting and some of the characters have been altered....
I'm sure I'll enjoy both!
Emily wrote: "I recommend Time and Time Again by Ben Elton!"Ohhhh, I've had that on my shelf for AGES! Been meaning to read it!
I guess it is kind of a cheat but I'm going with Sisters of the Revolution: A Feminist Speculative Fiction Anthology. Both the vandermeers worked on the project....Could also be used for the subtitle genre!
For this one I thought I would struggle to find something but actually there is a lot of novels out there with subtitles. The one I think I'm going to read is Perfume: The Story of a Murderer

Perfect! Been meaning to read it for a while!
Not sure if this has been mentioned (I'll admit, I only skimmed through the posts) but my copy of The Night Manager has a cat (of sorts) on it.
For this though I'll read Portable Curiosities.
I just found this about Agatha Christie..... So anyone of hers maybe?"She is best known for her detective novels and short story collections. But at the same time, she couldn’t even balance her own checkbook due to her learning disability, believed to be dysgraphia. She had a hard time spelling correctly, as a self proclaimed “extraordinarily bad speller” and was not good about remembering numbers, but her learning disability did not hold her back."
Thank you Pioup & Nadine for your responses. I may just leave that one as one of my last reads and see how I'm going by that point....
For the entire challenge I am trying to use books I own that I haven't read yet. As my shelves number well over 100 owned unread books this has not proved to be an issue until now.I read somewhere that Bel Canto is being made into a movie but no date. I like the idea of American Gods even though it is a TV series rather than a movie as that is a book I have been meaning to read for ages!
How do we feel about the TV series vs movie in this case?
