Just finished Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass. This is probably the sixth time I've read Alice, and I remembered most of it. But it's only the second time I've read Looking Glass, and I didn't recall any of it. Still a lovely strangeness about these stories.

I don't think I'll get to Wizard of Oz this month, so I'm moving it to April, unless you guys have already finished it. Let me know.

Hi, all. So no one else weighed in, we can do both this month! I've put the Amazon links to the Comfortable Classics editions below, but these books are available for free in the public domain through Project Gutenberg, too.

I would like to tell you a bit about why I published the Comfortable Classics, if you have a sec.

I own a new and used bookstore and many students have to purchase the classics for thier classes. They don't EVER give their parents notice and I was tired of not having them in stock. I didn't always have time to order from a publisher. When I'd order one from Amazon for them, it would often come in with bizarre formatting (probably published in a non-English speaking country. The words would be smooshed together, the punctuation really strange) and this just made it harder to read.

After a couple of years of this, I decided these books needed to be formatted for today's student of literature. So I used the original, unabridged text in a larger font, more white space, and left the margins generous for note taking. I also made all of the book covers match so they would look great on the student's bookshelves.

So far, the response from the students, teachers and schools using Comfortable Classics has been encouraging.

Simply too many layers of wit, creepiness, sarcasm, and human nature to absorb in one story!

There are so many witty quotes in this book, it was hard to choose. But I couldn't stop laughing at Henry's response to Lady Narborough at who she should invite to her party. "I like men who have a future and women who have a past" (top of page 242 in the Comfortable Classics edition)
