I will nominate A Little Life by Hanya Yanagihara. A heartbreaking, life-changing read that has garnered much praise over the past year.
This might literally be my favorite book. You can find my review here, and I'd love to discuss it with people.https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
I have so many feelings about this show. I wrote an entire blog post about it that you can find here, but, just, ugh, I spent the entire end of my senior year of high school addicted to this series. It's wickedly entertaining and scandalous in terms of sex/profanity/drug use/etc., but its characters are also so honest and vulnerable and possess such emotional depth.Nancy, I agree with your point about racial diversity. The time period that it was produced (over ten years ago) doesn't justify its lack of POC protagonists, but I think it helps explain it. I also agree to an extent about how the straight characters are portrayed as villains, but there are quite a few plot lines, especially later in the series, in which that theme is addressed.

I'd like to nominate Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe by Benjamin Alire Saenz.
Does anyone here watch The New Normal on NBC? It's a hilarious show about two gay men trying to have their first child.
Julia, I loved The Miseducation of Cameron Post! I just finished reading Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe, a young-adult coming of age novel centered on two Mexican-American boys. It was so moving.
I love blogging! I don't have a favorite blogger, but I do follow quite a few blogs that I find interesting or that pertain to subjects similar to the ones included in my blog.
I just posted this book in the "currently reading" thread, but With or Without You by Brian Farrey is a notable new young-adult with gay characters.Divergent by Veronica Roth was also a fantastic read - it's a dystopia that doesn't contain anything related to glbt, though.
Right now I'm reading With or Without You by Brian Farrey, it's the best young-adult book with gay characters I've read in a while. I'm almost done with it and have loved it so far, I highly recommend it. :)
Lucas,Others have already said it, but I just want to reiterate that what you're doing is absolutely fantastic. There needs to be more people out there like you. Amazing.
I loved The Vast Fields of Ordinary :) I came across VFO at the bookstore. The cover caught my eye so I decided to buy the book. A choice I don't regret.
This is so depressing -_- It's really sad when people at school talk about the unfairness of it all and everything, yet they don't really know how it feels to be a part of it. This may sound selfish but I hope by the time I'm older people will be more open-minded and accepting...
