Hi everyone,

We might have the opportunity to host Jessica Brody for her new YA novel, "A Week of Mondays," on Thursday, August 4. But I wasn't sure who would be in town then.

Would you like to make that book our August meeting and have the author join us for a discussion?

Please let me know asap. It can't wait until our June meeting. Thanks!

I just found out I have to go out of town the weekend of our meeting on June 12. Would you like to move the discussion to Sunday, June 19, or should I have Ashlee host on the 12th instead? Please let me know what you'd like to do. Thanks!

So we've been trying to locate copies of "Venom" to stock for our June book club, but we discovered that it went out of print. Huge bummer!

What would you all like to read instead? Here are a few ideas, but feel free to throw out another suggestion:

Insignia by S.J. Kincaid - Has been on our list. Think a faster, funny Ender's Game.

An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir - New in hardcover, but I know a few of us are already reading it. Amazing, epic fantasy set in a brutal world, alternating perspectives between a female scholar who becomes a slave to try to save her brother and a male masked soldier who wants to run away.

Me & Earl & the Dying Girl - Movie coming in June, so we could even all go see it together or something and then discuss both book and film! Think of it as the anti-Fault in Our Stars, wherein a couple of crass boys who make a bunch of weird horror movies befriend a girl with cancer because one boy's mom makes them. No big lessons or ill-fated romance.
