Ok, here's what is wrong with Jason: he's too perfect and stereotypical. I mean, come on. Percy has a definite personality; he's hilarious, impulsive, and most definitely NOT perfect, But we love him for his flaws and quirks.
Jason is like a bad color-copy of Percy. He's seriously the most default hero. Oh, here's this son of the king of the gods: he is insecure, serious, and rises to the challenge at the last minute! He always has a plan and is in charge! His character doesn't develop. He's just a big mass of blah.
