So many thoughts....but I'm saving them for the liveshow seeing as it's today! I have a lot of emotions.
Just finished chapter 13, and yeah I'm viewing their relationship as toxic too, but I never really liked Tamlin so it's actually refreshing in a way. Intrigued so much by Rhys, of course!
I don't think I would have picked this book up if it hadn't been suggested for the readalong either, I hadn't even heard of it until Kristin suggested it! I've just finished and I loved it, I loved how tough Zhara was, but I also loved how Caspida was her own person as well, and they were both strong in different ways.
It was really well paced, and I loved the writing style. The only character I wasn't as invested in, was Aladdin. I don't know why, I just didn't feel an attachment to him, but that's okay, as readers we aren't going to be invested in every character.
I loved it. I can't wait for the liveshow, I hope you guys will be watching :D
Really enjoying it, it's so nice to read a book that I can just fly through. I'm still not that invested in Aladdin, I can't seem to get invested in him.Couple of things though - did anyone else feel there wasn't a big enough reason stopping Zhara telling Aladdin about her freedom and also the rescue of the other jinni? Because, okay it was her idea and she got him into that mess - I get that, but, Aladdins big issue is that he wants her free. And, she could have said to him, part of the reason we're here is because I need to free this other jinni, and when I do, I will be free?
I guess I just feel the conflict between them regarding this secret isn't as big of a deal as maybe it's being made out to be? Could be just me!
But, I'm loving the book!
The book is so quick to read, I can't believe I'm at chapter thirteen already! I like the way the backstory is woven in, definitely agree with that and the writing style is very addictive and immersive, it's all so vivid to me. I love Zhara, and also Caspida too - I'm just not feeling Aladdin as much as I'd like to. He's not leaving me with much of an impression.
Interested to see how it develops though. I feel like there may be a love triangle coming up, BUT if there is I'm interested by it because it's not often we see a two female/one male ratio of a triangle, and it's very uncommon to see a love triangle where the protagonist is not the one making a choice, that's quite rare to me.
Let's see what happens!
Well I've just started the book and read those six chapters very quickly! I feel very similar to you guys it seems - loving the world, the pacing is very quick and I'm enjoying Zhara a lot. Aladdin at the moment is very blah, not invested in him at all at the moment but it's only the start so of course there's lots of time for development there! Yeah this was the part where I felt like they were all in this together, moving on the same journey.
It's very hard to describe writing styles, I get what you mean completely. I wasn't a huge fan of Whelks chapters at this point either. I agree, after the 100 page mark this book really picked up :)
That's so funny, because I can't put this book down! I picked it up on the train today and I found that I'm really enjoying it. The plot is pretty slow but I am loving the characters, I have a soft spot for Ronan the troubled one - of course I do. But I'm really loving it! Very intrigued about these ley lines and stuff, and I really like that Blue already knows who she is, it sounds like her abilities will develop more as the story goes on but it's refreshing that she knows who she is, what she is.

Okay so, I have a thought of thoughts!I want to save as much as I can for the liveshow where I can explain my feelings properly but basically I don't ship Tamlin and Feyre at all, I'm all about Rhysand - what a surprise.
When the people came out in the hoods at the end I thought one of them was going to be one of her sisters, or Alis, I never thought it would be Tamlin. I guessed the riddle too, and it annoyed me that it took her so long to figure it out, it was so obvious.
I wasn't expecting her to become Fae, I don't know how I feel about that but I'm interested to see where it goes.

Also....I was ..."
I thought the same hahaha! how funny!
