Though I loved this book, I do think the series has a lot of room to grow. I agree with Zezee that the ending felt a little rushed, and I also think that it was a wierd ending for the Whelk story. I felt strange about the who,e Adam thing, and think it was a device to open the door to a Blue-Gansey romance in the future...

But it does introduce the second book beautifully!

So, keeping in mind that I've been really enjoying this and having a hard time putting it down, I also feel this book is a bit unbalanced. There is so much tension, and heaviness, and mystery, but so far not enough lightness and answers. Even the extremely cute Adam and Blue parts are overshadowed by the fact that she will kill her true love, and that seems to be Gansey anyway!

Still, I can't seem to stop thinking about it... I can already feel this is one of those series. You know, that will constantly keep me up way past the time I should have gone to bed, and that get stuck in my head while I'm at work... Oh, well!

Btw, I think the dream tree is a tree that picks up on your fears: Blue's of loving and killing Gansey, Adam's of becoming like his father, Gansey's of actually finding the King.

Well, I was sold before, and continue to be. I love the depth in Stiefvater’s writting, though I understand how that would be a little much for people who didn't connect with the story right away - it's very intense, like a complete stranger who tells you their life story in a bank line out of the blue...

And I love all the mysteries! Yes, so many questions...

Did anyone else think the guy from the reading in chapter 13 was Whelk? Was it just me?

I'm knees deep in lay lines, ravens, kings, mysterious boys and this incredible psychic family, and I love it! I understand how people might find it slow, but this is completely up my alley. I'm so glad I'm finally reading this!
