160720 Recently I’ve finally decided to pick up the last instalment of The Mechanical by Ian Tregillis, which was recommend to me by Mahdi. I think the series started well, but three books was a bit much for the story it had to tell. The author tends to get a bit lost describing smells and all kinds of scatological details. Still even though the 3rd book wasn’t great IMO, the series is still well worth it.
Meanwhile I’ve started Becky Chambers’s Record of a Spaceborn Few, which is part of the Wayfarers series. I’m about 30% in, and it looks ok for now, not as good as the first one, which I would recommend for anyone who likes Firefly, but definitely better than the second one in the series.
160720 Thought I’d try creating a thread here where we could follow the format we used to have at the book club, where people describe what they have been reading and discus.

So, what have you been reading?

Wow, that's a thorough list. Thanks :)
160720 Any specific books from him I should give it a go first?

I've seen that one in my recommendations list as well going to add it to my fiction-to-read list. Cheers :)
160720 So goodreads keeps recomending me books by this guy: https://www.goodreads.com/author/show...

based on Terry Pratchett's books I've read. Anyone read any of his books, are they worth a try? The reviews on his books look a bit mixed...
