Ideal Punishment (14 new)
Apr 14, 2009 09:16AM

16135 Okay, I'm going to go off of what Reid said. So Reid, it seems to me that you do have the noblest of intentions in allowing inmantes to change, however, when you look at the reality of the situation, it is nearly impossible to tell whether an inmate has changed or not changed. With that being said, I think it is the justice systems responsibility to do the best that it can to punish these criminals, even if that means an imperfect system. Therefore, in all honesty, I feel that the justice system should punish criminals in whatever way seems to fit the crime. If that means death for death, so be it, if it means life improsonment, so be it. However, the issue comes when one must decide what a just punishmnet is -- which I have no answer for, so I guess i kind of failed at answering this post. Oh well, I hope I can at least shed some light on the reality of this situation instead of just thinking of it in a theoretical sense.
