One of the biggest things going on in comics at the moment is Marvel's Secret Wars event. Taking place on a planet made of patchwork bits of different alternate reality. All in all this is leading to some crazy stories exploring alternate takes of a ton of marvel's characters. If you're reading which series are you enjoying? If not this may show you some books that are worth picking up

One of my goals with the online discussion was to have a place people could gush about their love of comics. But should someone be unfamiliar with the literary type where should they start? I know many people I've encountered haven't gotten into it as they are overwhelmed by this questions so lets toss around a few ideas

Even though I'm leading the group/discussion I prefer more democratic decisions rather than totalitarian ones. So what else do you think we should read?

We don't need to stay isolated to a single book for our online discussion. So what else are you reading? Let us know if it's worth picking up!

As they are such a huge part of our culture, video games have been showing up more and more within Science fiction, as we can see with the main premise of Ready Player One. What are some others that you've come across in literature or other media?
One of my favorites is the Otherland Series by Tad Williams, a similar virtual reality experience to Ready Player One but with much more extreme consequences

After a brief discussion, we decided this would be a fantastic book to start off the club with. Here's the excerpt from the back of the book:
In the year 2044, reality is an ugly place. The only time teenage Wade Watts really feels alive is when he's jacked into the virtual utopia known as the OASIS. Wade's devoted his life to studying the puzzles hidden within this world's digital confines—puzzles that are based on their creator's obsession with the pop culture of decades past and that promise massive power and fortune to whoever can unlock them.
But when Wade stumbles upon the first clue, he finds himself beset by players willing to kill to take this ultimate prize. The race is on, and if Wade's going to survive, he'll have to win—and confront the real world he's always been so desperate to escape.
