16548 I read the trilogy in 2020-2021, it was a major revelation for me, I had not heard about Africanfuturism before. I really enjoyed the mix of scfi and African culture, and I learned a lot about the Himba culture.
Actually, I did a short Instagram video on it, could well be my best review as a video! If you listen to it, you can see how fascinated I was by this trilogy.

16548 "There are short stories, and there are short stories by Ted Chiang. Two different categories, if you ask me!" yes, so true Ryan!
I was very impressed by Stories of Your Life (especially Arrival), so I decided to join you.
I have been actually listening to it - I only have one hour to go.
I am so impressed always by his writing (and same here, I don't often read/enjoy short stories, though they seem to work better for me in the scifi genre).
I like how he uses science, at so many levels.
I also appreciate the author's note after each story, fun to discover why he wrote each story
16548 "They use the materials to support their engineering classes".
So cool!
16548 Not yet, but now I do want to try Slan!
16548 Thanks for choosing this book. I enjoyed it a lot.
Yes, some parts are dated, but others are oh still current, as these days, too many people are refuting science findings!
And so many people die just because of that, like in the book.
I actually listened to it, and really enjoyed the narrator Christopher Hurt.
It was fun to see how the writer thought of super intelligent alien creatures.
I definitely want to read more by this author.
Thanks @DivaDiane for the article on Nexialism! Medicine, like science, works better when "nexialism" is at work.
16548 Found a good audio recording on YouTube, if anyone else is interested in this format:

16548 Planning on starting it tomorrow probably

16548 Just started a wonderful recent French scifi, sorry not yet available in English.
The idea is scientists cline Neanderthals, help them grow, teach them basic life skills, and release them in a special nature area. The book goes back and forth between them and between the scientists. The writing is almost poetry.

16548 This is SciFi month for book bloggers, so here are my humble plans. And I'm half way through the first book:

16548 I just read Beautiful Star by Yukio Mishima by Yukio Mishima, which has some elements of scifi.
I talked about it on my blog:
